In the rather confusing world of United Nations peacekeeping operations, Ireland plans to deploy troops to Chad. As part of their support Norland was awarded a $1.6 M contract to provide satellite communications for these troops. See the press release here. This is probably a decent chunk of the Irish defense budget going to support this deployment. There was no description of how the troops were going to get there, but NATO has some lift ability.
