Ukrainian APS to Protect Turkish Tanks in Syria

Facing serious threats to their armored forces operating in Syria, the Turkish Army turned to Ukraine to counter the Kurd missile attacks on their tanks. The system presented by the Turks as ‘Akkor Pulat’ is actually the light version of the Ukrainian Zaslon that has recently completed its initial tests in Ukraine and now enters an accelerated test series in Turkey. Designed with simplicity and relatively simple integration, the system is expected to be fitted soon to all types of Turkish main battle tanks currently operating in Syria.

Textron Systems to Supply SCTV Armored Vehicles to Ukraine

Photo: Textron SystemsTextron Systems announced today the first export sale of its SCTV (Survivable Combat Tactical Vehicle) to the Ukraine. In 2015 the US Government has agreed to deliver Ukraine 200 HMMWVs from US military surplus; Some of these vehicles will be converted by Ukroboronprom into SCTV, using Textron delivered kits.

Ukraine state-run arms exporter Ukrspetsstroi will deliver 110 tank powerplants, engines and related parts to Pakistan, under a $50 million contract. US awards threat reduction contract for Former Soviet states

Black and Veatch won a contract from the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to provide services to Ukraine in the area of defenses against bioterrorism and bio weapon proliferation.  The contract is worth $175 M and is part of much larger contract worth up to $4 B.  Black and Veatch has worked with DTRA for several years in the Former Soviet Union (FSU) on threat reduction.
