FLIR stock hits all time high

FLIR Systems won a contract modification for the Army worth up to $380 M to build force protection systems. See an article here. This adds to an existing ID/IQ contract for the delivery of such systems. FLIR has built equipment for the US Army and other services to go on aircraft, vehicles and now ground mounted systems for surveillance around US bases. The stock closed at over $37 today.
Malaysia orders joint US - French air defense surveillance system

The Malaysian government ordered from RaytheonThalesSystems an upgraded air defense surveillance and control system for the country. See the story here. The system will be based on a central command and control facility designed and built by Raytheon for the US and Canada. Thales will make a long range radar in France to provide surveillance and data to the command center. No details on the size of the contract were announced.
BAE Systems Agrees to Sell Their Surveillance and Attack Business

BAE Systems sold their Surveillance and Attack system development group located in Lansdale, PA to Cobham Defense Electronic Systems Corporation. See the Press Release here. This moves the corporation away from subsystem development and into being a primary developer and integrator of total systems. The work being done there was part of their Electronic and Integrated Solutions group, which “designs, develops, and manufactures a wide range of electronic systems and subsystems for military and commercial applications.” Their web page here.
