NAVY

Navistar Defense, LLC, Warrenville, Ill., is being awarded a $178,262,162 modification to delivery order #0013 under previously awarded firm-fixed priced contract (M67854-07-D-5032) for the procurement of 1,222 independent suspension system kits and aluminum catcher plates for the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles. Work will be performed in West Point, Miss., and the period of performance is expected to be completed by the end of March 2011. Contract funds will not expire by the end of the current fiscal year. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity.

Northrop Grumman Corp., Integrated Systems, Bethpage, N.Y., is being awarded a $94,629,000 not-to-exceed advance acquisition contract for long lead materials and support associated with the manufacture and delivery of four low rate initial production Lot 3 E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft. Work will be performed in Syracuse, N.Y. (32.6 percent); various locations within the United States (23.7 percent); Bethpage, N.Y. (15.5 percent); Dallas, Texas (12.4 percent); Menlo Park, Calif. (9.8 percent); and Woodland Hills, Calif. (6 percent), and is expected to be completed in May 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-10-C-0044).

L-3 Communications Corp., Salt Lake City, Utah, is being awarded a $37,490,848 modification to a previously awarded fixed-price-incentive contract (N00019-09-C-0059) to exercise an option for the manufacture, test, and delivery of 11 AN/SRQ-4(Ku) radio terminal sets for ship small surface combatants and 51 AN/ARQ-59 RTSs for the MH-60R aircraft, including technical data. These upgraded Ku-band systems will extend existing Hawklink connectivity from small surface combatants to the aircraft carrier and increase data rates between MH-60R to surface combatants. Work will be performed in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is expected to be completed in March 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Technical Services Co., LLC, Indianapolis, Ind., is being awarded an $18,853,530 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously issued basic order agreement (N00019-05-G-0008) to exercise an option for the procurement of 36 LAU-115D/A launchers and 82 LAU-116B/A launchers for the F/A-18 aircraft. Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Ind., and is expected to be completed in September 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Maersk Line, Ltd, Norfolk, Va., is being awarded an $8,630,000 firm-fixed-price contract for a nine-month time charter of tanker MT Samho Moonstone, currently a foreign-flag vessel, which will be re-named and U.S.-flagged upon delivery to the government. The ship's primary mission is to move petroleum for the Department of Defense between ports in the Far East. This contract includes one 30-day option which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $9,500,000. Work is expected to commence May 2010 and is expected to be completed within 270 calendar days or, if all options are exercised, within 300 calendar days. The contract is expected to be funded in fiscal year 2010 and funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured, with 11 offers received. Military Sealift Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting authority (N00033-10-C-5410).

Insitu, Inc., Bingen, Wash., is being awarded an $8,576,814 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of technical services in support of the ScanEagle unmanned aerial system to support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance services. In addition, this contract provides for six critical spare kits and nine SkyHook recovery system modifications. Work will be performed in Bingen, Wash., and is expected to be completed in December 2010. Contract funds in the amount of $8,433,786 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to FAR 6.302-2. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-10-C-0045).

Raytheon Co., Integrated Defense Systems, San Diego, is being awarded a $7,500,000 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-08-C-5122) for the exercise of FY 10 options for performing as the platform system engineering agent for the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS). In the course of this effort, Raytheon will be responsible for the integration of complex war-fighting improvement - including components associated with the dual-band radar and Rolling Airframe Missile Block 2 - into the modular SSDS. SSDS is a combat system that intends to integrate and coordinate all of the existing sensors and weapons systems aboard a ship. Raytheon will integrate, test, and provide certification support for the government-furnished equipment/information required for the CVN/amphibious ship combat system. Work will be performed in San Diego (90 percent); Tewksbury, Mass. (2.5 percent); Portsmouth, R.I. (2.5 percent); St. Petersburg, Fla. (2.5 percent); and Tucson, Ariz. (2.5 percent). Work is expected to be completed by September 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

Kaman Precision Products, Inc., Orlando, Fla., was awarded a $46,253,422.83 contract modification which will provide a quantity of 12,994 joint programmable fuze systems. At this time, entire amount has been obligated. 679 ARSS, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., is the contracting activity (F08626-98-C-0006, P00130).

Raytheon Co., Tucson, Ariz., was awarded a $19,505,458 contract which provides an Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air-Missile system improvement program. At this time, the $2,770,000 has been obligated. 696 ARSS, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., is the contracting activity (FA8675-10-C-0105).

Booz Allen Hamilton, Herndon, Va., was awarded a $20,355,914 contract which will provide secure collaborative technologies and cyber security to Air Mobility Command. At this time, $455,000 has been obligated. 55 Contracting Squadron, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., is the contracting activity (SP0700-98-D-4002).

Rockwell Collins, Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was awarded an $11,111,767 contract modification which will provide for systems development, integration, and verification phase of the P5 range instrumentation waveform. This waveform is in support of the F-22 and F-35 aircraft. At this time, $5,000,000 has been obligated. 689 ARSS, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., is the contracting activity (FA8678-05-C-0141).

ARMY

Global Strategies Group North America, Inc., Frederick, Md., was awarded on March 10, 2010, an $18,745,406 firm-fixed-price contract for 103 containerized kitchens and authorize stockage list spares. Work is to be performed in Fredrick, Md., with an estimated completion date of Oct. 31, 2012. Bids were solicited on the World Wide Web with six bids received. U.S. Army Research, Development & Engineering Command Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, Mass., is the contracting activity (W911QY-05-D-0004).

Bethel Services, Inc., Bethel, Ark., was awarded on March 10, 2010, an $18,119,555 firm-fixed-price contract for 19 cold weather kits. Work is to be performed in Bethel, Ark., with an estimated completion date of April 29, 2011. One bid was solicited with one bid received. U.S. Army Research, Development & Engineering Command Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Divison, Natick, Mass., is the contracting activity (W911QY-05-C-0047).

Scott Reliance, JV, Chicago, Ill., was awarded on March 10, 2010, a $13,668,906 firm-fixed-price contract for the construction of an Army Reserve Center. Work is to be performed in Joliet, Ill., with an estimated completion date of Feb. 3, 2012. Bids were posted on the World Wide Web with eleven bids received. U.S. Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, Louisville, Ky., is the contracting activity (W912QR-10-C-0013).

Honeywell, Minneapolis, Minn., was awarded on March 10, 2010, a $7,342,153 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency, funding Honeywell to design, develop, and deliver a demonstration of a gyroscope with a goal capability of absolute reference navigation in a compact, four diameter optically integrated gyro-head. Work is to be performed in Minneapolis, Minn. (47 percent); Somerset, N.J. (19 percent); Pasadena, Calif. (17 percent); Glendale, Ariz. (16 percent); and King of Prussia, Pa. (1 percent), with an estimated completion date of May 7, 2010. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (HR0011-09-C-0019).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

MOOG, Inc., East Aurora, N.Y., is being awarded a maximum $6,232,476 firm-fixed-price contract for V22 aircraft parts. There are no other locations of performance. Using service is Air Force. There were originally two proposals solicited with two responses. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The date of performance completion is March 2012. The Defense Logistics Agency, Philadelphia (DSCR-ZC), Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SPM4A1-06-G-0002-THA7).

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Feb. 23, 2010 — Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) announced today it has received an additional $640 million award from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) to deliver 1,460 MRAP All Terrain Vehicles (M-ATV). To date, Oshkosh has received awards valued at more than $4.74 billion for 8,079 M-ATVs, as well as spare parts kits and aftermarket in-theater support.

The Oshkosh® M-ATV is the newest MRAP model, developed in response to an urgent need in Afghanistan. The vehicle is specifically designed to operate on the country’s harsh mountainous terrain and unimproved roads while providing protection levels equal to or better than those of legacy MRAPs. Able to overcome steep, rocky and rugged terrain, the vehicle uses the Oshkosh-patented TAK-4® independent suspension system for superior cross-country mobility, including a 70 percent off-road profile capability and 16 inches of independent wheel travel. OSHKOSH, Wis. — Feb. 10, 2010 — Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) today announced that its Defense Division received a delivery order to an existing contract valued at more than $158 million from the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) for more than 400 Logistics Vehicle System Replacements (LVSR). The order brings the total number of LVSRs under contract to nearly 1,300. With this latest order, LVSR production and delivery is extended into July 2011. More than 385 MKR18 cargo variants will be produced under the order. The remaining variants will be MKR16 tractors.

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Feb. 8, 2010 — Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) announced today that its Defense division received an award valued at more than $84 million from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) to supply more than 625 add-on armor kits for the MRAP All Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV).

Under the delivery order, Oshkosh will provide explosively formed penetrator (EFP) protection kits for the M-ATV. Delivery of the kits is expected to begin in April 2010 and be completed by the end of August 2010. The Oshkosh-supplied kits will include EFP armor, base door armor and a door-assist mechanism. To date, Oshkosh has received awards valued at more than $4 billion to deliver 6,619 M-ATVs, as well as spare parts kits and aftermarket in-theater support.

The advanced armor system solution for the base Oshkosh M-ATV, prior to installation of EFP kits, has been battle-tested on more than 5,000 legacy MRAPs and thousands of Oshkosh® Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) Armored Cabs already in theater. Incorporation of the Oshkosh-patented TAK-4® independent suspension system allows the M-ATV to accept add-on armor while maintaining its agile maneuverability and a full payload capacity of up to 4,000 pounds.

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Jan. 25, 2010 — Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) today announced its Defense division received two delivery orders valued at more than $325 million from the U.S. Army Tank- automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) to supply spare parts and repair kits for the MRAP All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV).

Timing for the delivery orders is expected to begin in August 2010 and be completed by the end of January 2011. To date, Oshkosh has received awards valued at more than $3.9 billion to deliver 6,619 M-ATVs, as well as spare kits and aftermarket in-theater support.

“These M-ATV spare parts and repair kits are being produced to ensure they are available to our Armed Forces as operations require,” said Robert G. Oshkosh Defense provides the complete spectrum of service and support for the M-ATV fleet in the Afghan theater. Building on its experience from Operation Iraqi Freedom, Oshkosh FSRs can operate service facilities on any of the forward operating bases that might require training and more support than internal assets can provide.

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Jan. 21, 2010 — Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) announced today that its Defense division received four awards valued at more than $89 million from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to supply parts for the MRAP All Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV), Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) and Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT).

Under two delivery orders with the DLA, Oshkosh will supply M-ATV spare parts, including engines, transmissions, transfer cases and alternators. Work under the orders is expected to be completed by October 2010. Under two other delivery orders with the DLA, Oshkosh will supply 2,400 axle assemblies for the HEMTT A2 and A4 models and more than 430 engines for the HET. Work under these orders is expected to be completed by December 2010.

Oshkosh is providing the M-ATV’s spare parts to the DLA to be used as in-the-field replacements after the original vehicle parts have been consumed. These parts will ship without delay to maintain optimal readiness rates for existing vehicles in theater. To date, Oshkosh has received awards valued at more than $3.6 billion to deliver 6,619 M-ATVs, as well as spare kits and aftermarket in-theater support.

Existing Oshkosh facilities have the capacity, highly skilled workforce and proven manufacturing capability to deliver these spare parts and all other Defense program orders, including the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), as well as any surges in production.

The M-ATV features the Oshkosh-patented TAK-4® independent suspension system to provide superior mobility on Afghanistan’s harsh off-road terrain and unimproved roads. Oshkosh teamed with Plasan North America to provide an advanced armor solution for the vehicle. Plasan also developed the armor system used on more than 5,000 legacy MRAPs and thousands of Oshkosh Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) Armored Cabs already in theater.

A 13-ton payload and off-road capabilities make the Oshkosh® HEMTT the backbone of the U.S. Army’s logistics fleet. Improvements to the HEMTT A4 include: a more powerful drivetrain; improved suspension; a fully air-conditioned and armor-ready cab; and other structural changes to make in-field installation of add-on armor quicker and easier. The HEMTT A4 is built with maximum common parts across its variants.

The Oshkosh HET is designed to rapidly transport battle tanks, fighting and recovery vehicles, armored vehicles and construction equipment, as well as their crews, so they arrive in mission-ready condition. The latest Oshkosh HET A1 configuration includes increased horsepower, higher-capacity front suspension, an armor-ready cab, electrical upgrades and improved diagnostics.

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Jan. 8, 2010 — Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) today announced that its Defense division has received two delivery orders valued at $31.5 million from Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) to install armor kits on 300 vehicles and manufacture more than 90 Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacements (MTVR) for the U.S. Marine Corps.

Oshkosh Defense will supply the Marine Corps with primarily the cargo variant of the vehicle as well as a few tractors, wreckers and dump variants of the MTVR. Production at the company’s Oshkosh, Wis. facilities will be completed by September 2010. Installation of the MTVR armor kits will be finished at two of the company’s regional service centers in Jacksonville, N.C., and Oceanside, Calif.

The Oshkosh MTVR is an all-terrain, multipurpose logistics vehicle used by the Marines and Navy Seabees. The MTVR uses the Oshkosh® TAK-4® independent suspension system, which has undergone more than 500,000 miles of government testing to achieve superior off-road mobility. Featuring an off-road 7.1-ton payload capacity and an on-road 15-ton payload capacity, the MTVR comes in several variants for the transportation of troops, materials or equipment. The delivery order for the cargo variant of the vehicle is valued at more than $5 million and brings the total number of LVSRs under contract to 875.

Production and delivery of the LVSRs will be completed in October 2010, with all variants manufactured in the company’s Wisconsin facilities. Oshkosh delivered its requirement of nearly 40 LVSRs in November, and set a record production number for the program when it produced more than 40 in October.

With improved survivability, mobility and performance, the next-generation LVSR expands on the original Logistics Vehicle System (LVS) produced by Oshkosh Corporation in the early 1980s. The Oshkosh® LVSR is used by the U.S. Marine Corps for the on- and off-road transportation of heavy payloads, such as munitions, fuel, water and heavy equipment.

Oshkosh continues to exceed the accelerated delivery schedule with unprecedented production efforts at its manufacturing facilities. The company has ramped up production to achieve 1,000 vehicles per month in December and this new award will extend production into May 2010.

First Oshkosh LVSR Deployed to Afghanistan In Support of U.S. Marine Corps

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Oct. 19, 2009 — Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), announced today that the first Logistics Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR) has been deployed with the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan, with two additional vehicles set to be delivered later in October. All three vehicles being delivered are cargo variants. Oshkosh is also sending two Field Service Representatives (FSR) to Afghanistan this month to provide support services for LVSR users.

The heavy-payload LVSR, which arrived in Afghanistan in September, is a next-generation replacement for the LVS and features survivability, mobility and performance improvements. The vehicle uses the industry-leading Oshkosh® TAK-4® independent suspension system and mechanical rear-steer technology to provide superior mobility on demanding off-road terrain and unimproved roads. The LVSR also features factory-installed armor as part of its crew cab and is designed to accept an add-on armor kit for increased protection.

“The fielding of this vehicle in Afghanistan is a significant milestone for both the U.S. Marine Corps and Oshkosh Defense,” said Andy Hove, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president, Defense. “The LVSR expands on the capabilities of the LVS, which has been an integral part of the Marine Corps fleet for nearly 25 years, to negotiate and overcome the most challenging environments, including those found in Afghanistan.”

The LVSR features an on-road payload capacity of 22.5 tons and an off-road payload capacity of 16.5 tons. The LVSR uses a single-source lubrication system for simplified maintenance and has a 600-horsepower C15 engine. The vehicle also uses Oshkosh’s Command Zone embedded diagnostics to monitor major vehicle systems, including the engine, transmission and brakes. Vehicle service and support is streamlined by the parts and maintenance commonality the LVSR shares with more than 10,000 fielded Oshkosh Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacements (MTVR).

Oshkosh won the competitively bid indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for the LVSR in June 2006. The contract has a value of $740.2 million based on a production quantity of 1,592 vehicles.

This is the fourth award under the M-ATV delivery order first awarded in June 2009, and brings the total number of vehicles Oshkosh will supply to 5,219. The aggregate amount of the four awards is valued at $2.76 billion.

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Oct. 7, 2009 — The Association for the United States Army (AUSA) today presented Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert G. Bohn with the distinguished John W. Dixon award at the AUSA 2009 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Oct. 5, 2009 — Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) announced today that the first MRAP All Terrain Vehicles (M-ATV) are on the ground and in theater in Afghanistan. The vehicle’s delivery comes just three months after Oshkosh was awarded the M-ATV contract.

Oshkosh designed the combat vehicle based on a battle-proven platform, incorporating superior survivability and suspension technology to provide the protection and mobility needed for missions in the mountainous terrain in Afghanistan. Having so far received awards valued at $2.3 billion for 4,296 M-ATVs, spare parts and support services, Oshkosh has delivered vehicles ahead of the government’s schedule every month and is on its way to ramping up production to 1,000 vehicles per month by this December.

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Oct. 2, 2009 — Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) announced today its Defense Segment received a $33 million award from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) to supply a rear-mounted camera system on more than 2,200 MRAP All Terrain Vehicles (M-ATV) to provide improved situational awareness for vehicle occupants.

“We are pleased to work with our customer to provide this vehicle upgrade for the benefit of the U.S. Armed Forces in Afghanistan,” said Ken Juergens, M-ATV program director for Oshkosh Defense. “The advanced M-ATV provides exceptional mobility and protection capabilities, and this technology will help the vehicle’s crew better survey their surroundings as they navigate Afghanistan’s harsh environments.”

The camera system, which integrates with existing vehicle video displays, provides a 40-degree vertical and 54-degree horizontal field of view. The system uses an infrared camera core in an LED-equipped tailgate assembly and provides visibility through dust, obscurants and incremental weather in day and night operations.

Oshkosh is a longtime, proven manufacturer of next-generation vehicles and can incorporate advanced technologies into each vehicle platform it manufactures. The company has delivered its M-ATV requirements ahead of schedule every month and will ramp up production to 1,000 vehicles per month in December. OSHKOSH, Wis. (Sept. 28, 2009) – Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) announced today that its Defense division has received orders valued at $24 million to supply its TAK-4® independent suspension system for more than 300 BAE Systems USCS RG-33 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. BAE issued the orders following the receipt of contracts awarded from the MRAP Joint Program Office.

These are the latest in multiple deliveries Oshkosh Defense has received for its advanced independent suspension system to be supplied for legacy MRAPs. The TAK-4 system provides improved mobility for the difficult on- and off-road terrain in Afghanistan.

“The Oshkosh TAK-4 independent suspension delivers increased cross-country performance for legacy MRAPs to successfully handle and negotiate the most challenging environments,” said Robert G. Bohn, Oshkosh Corporation chairman and chief executive officer. “Our advanced suspension system is a more durable alternative than straight-axle suspensions, providing improved performance and greater crew comfort on rugged terrain.”

In testing of a BAE Systems RG-33 MRAP upgraded with the Oshkosh TAK-4 system, the military determined the enhancement significantly improved the vehicle’s mobility. Based on this successful testing, Oshkosh worked with BAE Systems to develop a suspension kit for the RG-33 USSOCOM variant.

The vehicles will be upgraded in theater, with work expected to be completed by March 31, 2010. Oshkosh Defense is working with multiple manufacturers of legacy MRAPs and has now received orders for more than 2,300 TAK-4 systems for the vehicles.

The advanced suspension system, which has undergone more than 400,000 miles of government testing, also is featured on the MRAP-All Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV) and the U.S. Army’s Palletized Load System (PLS A1), as well as the U.S. Marine Corps’ Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) and Logistics Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR).

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Sept. 14 2009 — Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) announced today it has received an additional $189 million award from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) to deliver an additional 352 MRAP All Terrain Vehicles (M-ATV) to the U.S. Armed Forces by March 2010. The award also includes aftermarket parts packages.

This is the third award under the delivery order first awarded in June 2009. To date, TACOM LCMC has ordered a total of 4,296 M-ATVs from Oshkosh. The aggregate amount of the three awards is valued at $2.3 billion.

“Oshkosh is committed to meeting our customer’s urgent need for this highly mobile vehicle and helping our Armed Forces serving in Afghanistan to better operate on the country’s challenging terrain,” said Robert G. OSHKOSH, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) announced today that its Defense division has received orders valued at $24 million to supply its TAK-4® independent suspension system for more than 300 BAE Systems USCS RG-33 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. Oshkosh Defense Awarded $54 Million Delivery Order for M-ATV Armor Kits

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Dec. 24, 2009 — Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), has received an order valued at more than $54 million from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) to supply more than 970 add-on protection kits for the MRAP All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV).

Under the delivery order, Oshkosh will supply more than 170 explosively formed penetrator (EFP) kits through April 2010 and 800 rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) kits through May 2010. To date, Oshkosh has received awards valued at $3.52 billion to deliver 6,619 M-ATVs, as well as spare kits and aftermarket in-theater support.

“The M-ATV provides exceptional protection capabilities for our U.S. Armed Forces in Afghanistan, and these add-on armor kits will only further improve upon those capabilities,” said Andy Hove, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president, Defense. “A flexible design and advanced independent suspension system allows the vehicle to take on additional payloads, including add-on armor upgrades.”

Oshkosh Defense teamed with Plasan North America to provide an advanced armor solution for the M-ATV. Plasan also developed the armor system used on more than 5,000 legacy MRAPs and thousands of Oshkosh Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) Armored Cabs already in theater.

The M-ATV uses the Oshkosh-patented TAK-4® independent suspension system to provide superior off-road mobility as well as support vehicle upgrades, such as heavier armor. The system, which has undergone more than 500,000 miles of government testing, provides 16 inches of independent wheel travel and helps the vehicle achieve a 70-percent off-road profile capability to negotiate harsh cross-country terrain and unimproved roads.

Existing Oshkosh facilities have the capacity, highly skilled workforce and proven manufacturing capability to deliver the M-ATV and vehicles for all other Army and Defense programs, including the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), as well as any surges in production.
