Northrop Grumman Names Tony Spehar Vice President, Program Manager Of ICBM Prime Integration Contract

CLEARFIELD, Utah –– Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) today named Anthony (Tony) Spehar vice president and program manager for the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Prime Integration Contract (IPIC), a 15-year effort to modernize and maintain the reliability, safety and security of the nation's entire force of land-based Minuteman III missiles.

Most recently, Spehar was the chief engineer and director of the company's Missile Systems Center of Excellence, which consists of some
500 missile engineers in six states. Prior to that, he was vice president and general manager of the former Kinetic Energy Interceptors (KEI) program. Spehar succeeds Jim Meyers, who will retire effective May 31 after a 16-year career with Northrop Grumman.

"Tony Spehar brings technical and program management strength to the position that will continue the achievements that Jim Meyers managed so well," said John Clay, vice president of Missile Systems for the company's Aerospace Systems sector.

In addition to serving as KEI general manager, Spehar also held a similar position for the IPIC Minuteman III Propulsion Replacement Program, as well as other ICBM modernization efforts such as the Rapid Execution and Combat Targeting Service Life Extension Program.

He earned a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Utah. He also completed the Advanced Program Management Course at the Defense Systems Management College in Fort Belvoir, Va.

Newington, VA, February 19, 2010 – The U.S. Army Product Manager for Joint – Automatic Identification Technology (PM J-AIT), a part of the Program Executive Office, Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) at Fort Belvoir, VA, has selected a new Deputy Product Manager (DPM), Mr. Jim Alexander. This position was effective 17 January 2010. Mr. Alexander is responsible for driving key decisions in regards to future program initiatives by working directly with the U.S. Army G-4 staff and PEO EIS Headquarters offices to ensure adequate funding is available to sustain the program.

Mr. Alexander is a former U.S. Air Force senior non-commissioned officer, offering more than 34 years of supply chain management experience within the Department of Defense (DoD) and private industry. Since his departure from active military duty, he acted as the vice president of a company that specialized in the exportation of propane gas equipment to the Caribbean and Latin America and worked as a program lead for DoD Web-based applications. Prior to his new role as DPM, Mr. Alexander served as PM J-AIT’s Radio Frequency In-Transit Visibility (RF-ITV) Systems Chief. He is currently enrolled in the Naval Postgraduate School where he is completing his Master’s of Science Degree in Program Management.

Technology Solutions Company to Help Improve Weapon System Design, Cost and Performance

McLean, VA – July 1, 2009 – Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned technology solutions provider, has been awarded a contract valued at $5 million to support the Air Force 711th Human Performance Wing/Human Performance Integration Directorate for the evaluation of human performance factors on Air Force weapon systems.

The work, which falls under the Alion-operated Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center (MSIAC) contract, includes analyzing human performance on weapon system ability and readiness through the Air Force’s Human Systems Integration (HSI) program. HSI takes a human-centric approach to system design and acquisition to reduce lifecycle costs and optimize system performance. Alion’s work will help the Air Force measure performance and improve weapon systems.

Under the contract, Alion will provide HSI expertise, human performance modeling, systems engineering and analysis of human-machine interfaces. This will ensure that the warfighter is an integral part of weapon system design, integration, operation and performance.
