HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 23 ­­– Taos Industries, a subsidiary of Agility Defense & Government Services (DGS), won two task orders worth $8.5 million for the operation of six Defense Reutilization and Marketing Offices (DRMOs) in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The task orders were awarded by the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS), a unit of the Defense Logistics Agency based in Battle Creek, Mich.

Taos Industries currently operates the world’s largest DRMO at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. It also operates four DRMO sites in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

Using state-of-the-art technology, the Taos DRMS team demilitarizes and disposes of excess and unserviceable military property, with the exceptions of ordnance and HAZMAT, for U.S. military and allied forces.

Under a $5.2 million DRMS task order, Taos Industries will provide continued operations and life support at the six DRMO locations. Under a second DRMS task order worth $3.3 million, Taos Industries will provide additional operational labor and materials at the Afghanistan site and four Iraq DRMO locations to meet a surge of material at each location. Each award covers a one-year base period.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July, 16, 2009 – Former U.S. Ambassador John D. Negroponte has joined the board of directors of leading logistics provider Agility Defense & Government Services (DGS), the company announced today.

DynCorp International Heads Team with Taos Industries and CH2M HILL

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 13, 2009 – Taos Industries, a subsidiary of Agility Defense & Government Services, and its partners DynCorp International and CH2M HILL have been awarded a task order for logistics support for the Afghanistan-South Area of Responsibility (AOR) under the U.S. Army’s LOGCAP IV contract.

The value of the task order is $643.5 million for the one-year base period. The award also includes four one-year option periods valued at $5.874 billion. DynCorp International is the prime contractor, and Taos Industries and CH2M Hill are subcontractors on the LOGCAP IV team. The Army has directed the team to begin work immediately.

Under LOGCAP IV, the Army’s Logistics Civil Augmentation Program, contractors provide contingency services in support of the U.S. military.

Under the new task order, the team will provide existing bases in the Afghanistan South AOR with operations and maintenance support, including facilities management, electrical power, water, sewage and waste management, laundry operations, food services and transportation motor pool operations. In addition, the team will provide construction services for additional sites.

* Logistics support services in Kuwait. Those services include movement-control operations, in-transit logistics management, facilities management, including base camp services, life support and operations and maintenance.

Agility DGS Awarded Army Vehicle Storage Contracts

Separate Wins as Prime and Subcontractor Valued at $128 Million

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 10, 2009 – Agility Defense & Government Services (DGS), a leading provider of integrated logistics, supply chain management and commodity services, won three vehicle-storage contracts awarded by the U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM).

Each award has a one-year base and four one-year options. They are worth a combined $128 million over five years.

Under the $42 million Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Storage Services-East contract, Agility DGS will act as the prime contractor and will be responsible for storage of deployed soldiers’ vehicles at U.S. Army bases in the eastern United States. The bases are: Ft. Drum, Ft. Stewart, Ft. Benning, Ft. Polk, Ft. Bragg and Ft. Campbell. The main subcontractor on the POV Storage Services-East contract will be Fayetteville VPC.

Under the $31 million POV Storage Services-Hawaii contract, Agility DGS will act as the prime contractor and will be responsible for storage of deployed soldiers’ vehicles at Schofield Barracks, a U.S. Army installation in Hawaii. The main subcontractor on the POV Storage Services-Hawaii contract will be Dawson Group, Inc.

Agility DGS will work as subcontractor on the $55 million POV Storage Services-West contract, which was awarded to a team led by SDV Command Source, LLC, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business. The team includes subcontractors Ready One and Skookum, which are both AbilityOne companies. It will be responsible for storage of deployed soldiers’ vehicles at U.S. Army bases in the western United States: Ft. Hood, Ft. Riley, Ft. Sill, Ft. Carson, Ft. Bliss and Ft. Lewis.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 6, 2009 – Agility Defense & Government Services (DGS) announced that the U.S. Army has awarded a one-year option on the Army’s Heavy Lift VI contract. The value of this one-year extension is estimated to be up to $91 million. Under the extension, Agility will continue to provide transportation services for military personnel, supplies, and equipment.

For Heavy Lift VI, Agility supplies and operates vehicles, including heavy equipment transport (HET) and flatbed trailers, to support the U.S. Army’s supply line needs in Iraq and Kuwait. To service the contract Agility also provides skilled personnel to handle transportation, and maintenance operations.

Defense Logistics Agency extends Agility to December 2010

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9, 2009 – Agility Defense & Government Services (DGS) announced that the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has exercised the third option period on its contract for the supply and distribution of food and non-food products to U.S. forces in Iraq.

The contract, known as the Subsistence Prime Vendor contract, requires Agility DGS to handle procurement, shipping, warehousing and distribution of food and non-food products for all branches of the U.S. military. The maximum value of the 18-month extension is $1.4 billion.

USMC awards storage contract

The USMC awarded Agility Defense & Government Services a contract to provide storage and transhipment of material. The one year plus six option years contract has a value of about $140 M if fully executed and will cover both US and overseas bases. The company will be responsible for not just heavy equipment but also smaller and the Marine’s personal gear as well. This the third major contract that the company has won from the US Department of Defense in the last few years.
