SUNBURST ELECTRONICS RINGS IN NEW YEAR WITH ISO AS9100 CERTIFICATION: ADVANCES GOAL OF EXPANDING AEROSPACE SERVICE LINES
ERIE, Pa. (December 29, 2009) – Sunburst Electronics, a contract manufacturer of electronic controls based in Erie, Pa. (www.sunburstelectronics.com), announced today that the company has achieved a new quality milestone – ISO AS9100.
Kevin McDonough, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Sunburst, indicates, “Sunburst continues to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace by making the pursuit of quality measures a top priority throughout the company. We expect to grow our aerospace industry service lines and offer greater benefits and value to our aerospace customer partnerships, having now completed the rigorous process of securing ISO AS9100 certification.”
Sunburst’s AS9100 certification complements the company’s recent alliance with Composiflex (www.composiflex.com). The two organizations partnered in late 2009 to provide single-source, advanced technologies (composite-based enclosures and electronic componentry) for the aerospace market.
A J-STD-001 facility certified to ISO 9001-2008, Sunburst Electronics has an extensive aerospace manufacturing legacy in the areas of flight controls, avionics, simulation and crew comfort systems.
Sunburst received its ISO AS9100 certification via the auditing efforts of QMI – SAI Global, North America’s leading management systems registrar. QMI – SAI Global certificates are recognized and accepted worldwide; and the organization is accredited by a number of organizations including but not limited to the American National Standards Institute, the Registrar Accreditation Board of the USA, and the Standards Council of Canada.
