The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) is the ” component that works directly with Defense suppliers to help ensure that DoD, Federal, and allied government supplies and services are delivered on time, at projected cost, and meet all performance requirements.” They work with contractors and suppliers to ensure that the terms of contracts are being met and the U.S. is accepting products that meet their requirements.

They have workers, both military and civilian, across the world working at different facilities monitoring production and delivery of products and overall contract performance.

They recently awarded Accenture (ACN) a contract to develop an IT system for contract monitoring. The 8 month effort will design a system to aid DCMA in collecting and sharing information related to program performance.

All kidding aside DCMA has an important role to play in ensuring that contractors are performing for their money and IT systems should aid them in carrying out their missions.
