The U.S. Navy awarded Boeing (BA) a contract to provide support to their Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Enterprise Network Manager Software. The contract if all options are exercised is worth over $50 million.

The JTRS program will ultimately make new radios for aircraft, ground vehicles, and man portable systems. The goal of the JTRS radio is to make it possible to program waveforms making the radios very flexible and interoperable. The Management Software will enable the establishment and organization of networks.

Boeing has been a key contractor on the ground mobile radio segment of the JTRS program and this contract is an extension of that work and the capabilities of the contractor.
