General Dynamics Awarded Department of Homeland Security National Communications System Contract

FAIRFAX, Va., -- General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has been awarded one of the National Communications System's (NCS) National Security and Emergency Preparedness Scientific, Engineering and Technical Assistance contracts by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This five-year, multiple-award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a combined ceiling value of $388.9 million to be competed among all four awardees through the term of the contract. General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).

General Dynamics will provide support to NCS national security/emergency preparedness (NS/EP) programs, including networking, emergency communications, national policy, operations, restoration protocols, industry and government guidelines, and pursuing new technical initiatives.

"With growing and changing threats to our nation, it is critical for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to continue to protect our national security and emergency preparedness telecommunications services and facilities," said Lou Von Thaer, president, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. "General Dynamics will help DHS achieve its mission of securing critical infrastructures across the federal government and private sector."
