Federal Business Development Executive Ed Hallda Joins Applied Technical Systems

Hallda has been instrumental in bringing millions of defense contracting dollars to Kitsap County

Silverdale WA – July 8, 2009 – Applied Technical Systems (ATS) announced today the appointment of Ed Hallda as Business Development Executive. In this capacity, Mr. Hallda will be responsible for generating new business opportunities in information technology systems and support for government and commercial clients. Mr. Hallda brings over 16 years of Navy service and federal business development experience to the fast growing ATS team.

Prior to joining ATS, Mr. Hallda served as Business Development Executive for Bremerton, WA-based D4 where he was instrumental in bringing several million dollars of defense contracting to the Kitsap economy. Hallda also served as Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Development for LION, Inc., where he successfully built business partnerships and strategic alliances to form the largest online business-to-business mortgage marketplace on the Internet.

“Ed’s track record of bringing defense contracting dollars to Kitsap County is truly impressive,” said David Wachter, president and co-CEO of Applied Technical Systems. “He brings to ATS a diverse background in both technology and federal business development, plus an extensive network of Department of Defense contacts. I am thrilled to welcome him to the ATS team.”

Mr. Hallda’s technology background includes six years in the Navy as an Electronics Technician and six years supporting the Navy as a contracted Computer Specialist with Vitro, Inc. where he designed custom database applications with a concentration on financial transactions and reporting. Mr. Hallda then founded a local Internet Service Provider business in Kitsap County and acted as a private consultant to many Washington-based companies including LION, Inc. where he led a team of engineers that developed the first application on the Internet to successfully transmit automated underwriting data to Fannie Mae for mortgage loan approval.

“I have been impressed with the depth and breadth of services ATS is able to provide to government and commercial clients,” said Mr. Hallda. “In the information technology sector alone, ATS’ strong past performance qualifications in systems integration, software development, IT help desk and business process automation position the company for rapid growth.”
