The U.S. Department of Defense plans to end the current Transformational Satellite Communications (TSAT) program and restructure a more simplified program with a less aggressive schedule. Forbes reports that the current program will stop and a new requirement be developed. Lockheed and Boeing were planning on bidding on the original requirement, and will surely bid on the new one. The TSAT may be delayed up to four years and have reduced capabilities. This will hopefully reduce the cost of the program. More to come on this in the next year.
