Navy awards concept development contract to Boeing for EP-3 replacement
Concurrent with the replacement of the P-3 Orion anti-submarine warfare patrol aircraft the US Navy is also developing a replacement for the EP-3 Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) aircraft. This story says that the Navy awarded Boeing a contract to begin concept development for this airplane. Boeing will work with Argon ST, a sensor development company, to define capabilities and integration activities for the EPX program. Since the P-3 is being replaced by a version of the B-737, the EP-3 is as well.
