US Army using solar powered lights for temporary helipads

According to this press release here, the US Army has been investing in Carmanah Technologies Corporation solar powered light and instrument packs to support temporary helipads being built in Iraq and Afghanistan. With this Canadian companies’ equipment there is no requirement for power to be supplied to the area. The kits include a lighted windsock as well. This is the kind of equipment that will support a rapid deployment of a very night capable force.
